APPLICATION PROCESS

STEP 1 – COMPLETE & SUBMIT THE APPLICATION ABOVE

STEP 2 – BACKGROUND CHECK

Using the information, you’ve provided as part of your application for membership, we’ll work with the North Tonawanda Fire Department Training Officer to conduct a arson background check as required by New York State law for all applicants. You will be responsible for going to the North Tonawanda Police Station and having a police background sent directly to the firehall at:

Sweeney Hose Company #7

P.O. Box 30

North Tonawanda, NY 14120

STEP 3 – INTERVIEW

Once / if we receive a positive response from the background checks, you’ll then be asked to come in for an interview with members of the membership committee and fire advisory board. During the meeting we’ll review with you all of the requirements for membership, and this will be your opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

STEP 4 – VOTING

After your interview, your application will then be brought up before the general membership at the next monthly meeting. New members are accepted by a majority vote of the members at that meeting.
